Dear Kris,
We wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for the opportunity to meet with you recently. It was truly a pleasure to have an open and constructive conversation about the city’s future. Your professionalism, insight, and positive approach were a breath of fresh air. It was clear from our discussion that you not only understand the pressing needs of Clayton but also the budget constraints and political nuances that shape the work being done.
In contrast to the challenges we’ve faced with previous leadership, it is incredibly refreshing to see someone who genuinely understands the importance of stable, effective management. The turnover in city staff, particularly in light of poor leadership and mismanagement under the previous city managers, has been an ongoing concern for many of us. The lack of direction and accountability left a significant void, which impacted morale and hindered the city’s progress.
With your leadership, we have no doubt that Clayton will regain its footing and benefit from a more cohesive, forward-thinking approach. It’s clear that you are committed to both restoring trust and fostering an environment where staff can thrive. We are excited about the prospect of continuing to work together and supporting you in the efforts to strengthen the city.
Clayton is truly lucky to have you at the helm, and we look forward to our continued collaboration. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can do to assist in the important work ahead.
Thank you once again for your time and leadership. We are optimistic about the future and excited for the positive change you will undoubtedly bring.
Sincerely,
Gary Hood and Bill Walcutt

Thanks for taking the time to meet with our city manager and reporting back.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like we have an “adult” back in the room. Thank God, Bret and Reina are gone. They were the worst hires anyone could have made.
ReplyDeleteYou know this is all a push to get him on claytonwatch's side. How about an interview with Holly??
ReplyDeleteNo one wants to interview a narcissistic liar who likes to berate fellow council members for not getting her way. She has now moved to do the same to residents along with you, Ed, and you all are a hateful bunch who know nothing about compassion, empathy, love, or understanding. Please keep your psychotic views to yourself. No one cares what you think.
DeleteEd M, I believe Clayton Watch has reached out to Holly many times and she didn't respond.
Delete"claytonwatch's side"? Does that mean bad because it's not your side? Or is it the wrong side per Ed, Holly and Tamara so it has to be? - Please enlighten us Ed what side is it when someone one takes the time to reach out and meet and then be transparent about it? Or having someone assessing both the persons competence and willingness to work along-side with all stakeholders rather than those who are reflexively at odds because they consider themselves the "right" side. Apparently to you this was a bad thing. Maybe in your world but not mine. PS I know you object to "Anonymous" but it just works easier however Ed just to satisfy you this is Glenn M.
DeleteEd M. Why would anyone waste time on Holly, she is irrelevant and is finished as a politician. The people of Clayton (most of them) see right through her radical progressive politics.
DeleteHolly is a miserable, mean, and hateful human being to anyone who disagrees with her. Numerous people can attest to that statement. My question to you, Ed, what has she promised you that you are always rah rah Holly?
DeleteRenia was dreadful; you could never get a straight answer from her. Bret was a two-year-old who thought his job was to educate everyone, even saying so himself multiple times. When Bret did not get his way, he took his friends and left—thank God!
ReplyDeleteOur new city manager is terrific. Kris is a professional who is competent and dedicated.
.
This city manager isn’t trying to be the 6th council member. Bret Prebula was a solution in search of a crisis! He’s got his crisis in Suisun City which is a real disaster. Clayton was never in any real trouble so Bret had to manufacture a crisis. This new city manager is working with a city council that has 4 grown up council members. Things will get done this year. It’s sad that the Bret Prebula crowd wants to live in the past and do all they can to sabotage the success of the city. Fortunately, they won’t be able to stop this city manager and 4 member majority on the council from getting important things done. Tamara Steiner take note, your decline nonsense will be proven to be just that, nonsense!
ReplyDeleteKris showing honest transparency with the community. Clayton didn't see that from the last two Cty Mgrs.
ReplyDeleteThanks to him.

Absolutely correct!
DeleteThank you Gary and Bill for taking the time to meet with Kris. After three years of incompetent leadership at city hall, it looks like Kris will finally put the city back on track to move forward.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gary and Bill. Your dedication and affection for Clayton are truly remarkable. We appreciate you keeping us updated.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gary and Bill, for standing up and doing what is right for the residents of Clayton. You both clearly want what is best for the community. You both hold our city officials accountable for their actions, especially the dreadful Tillman, who should resign.
ReplyDeleteI’m thrilled that Clayton Watch was created. The chaos that has persisted for years is finally coming to a decisive end. Thank you Gary Hood, Bill Walcutt and the Clayton Watch Team.
ReplyDeleteThank you to City Manager Kris for not putting up with the nonsense from Holly's group of fruits and nuts but listening to the community. A true breath of fresh air!
