This is one of the most important elections in Clayton’s History

TELL THE CANDIDATES TO STOP SPREADING DIVISIVE RACIAL RUMORS

Is Clayton Racist? NO! Do Our Police Profile? NO!

Dear Fellow Citizens:

We need to elect council members that LOVE our little city not destroy it for political reasons. Three Candidates, Holly Tillman, Tuija Catalano and Peter Cloven have made racism a central issues of their campaigns:

Holly Tillman said Clayton is a racist city, "Not my words" and some people are afraid to come out of their homes. Yet in her campaign statement she said, "We were drawn to Clayton by the warmth of the people - it has since become the perfect place to raise our two daughters." Which is it, a racist city . . . or a wonderful place to raise your kids? She just proudly announced on Friday, October 9, 2020, being endorsed by a radical group calling themselves “Our Revolution Contra Costa.”

TUIJA CATALANO a ten year on again, off again, resident of Clayton (lives here 6 years goes back to Finland for 3 or 4 years and comes back for 4 years) claims she understands racial issues in Clayton and is well equipped to deal with it. That is pretty amazing for a person that grew up in Finland a country that is 99% white. And FYI, both her and Julie Pierce were the ones that met the BLM protesters at the top of the hill and knelt with them. What’s the connection? And why did Catalano call the police chief afterwards and apologies for BLM’s behavior? Her large donations to Senator Scott Wiener along with Julie Pierce’s support (enabled legislation that allows for the state to mandate an 81-unit apartment building in the heart of our community). Her arrogance in thinking we will not put forth the effort to educate ourselves - is our opportunity to end this 2-faced representation. Folks, with Julie Pierce gone, the head Monster that is destroying Clayton also needs to go. This is our opportunity for change. We deserve better!

Peter Cloven is using racism as a campaign issue because he thinks it sells right now and it will divert attention away from his flip flopping hypocritical position on high density housing. He fought very hard against a high density project in his neighborhood and won; but didn’t give a damn about the rest of us when it came to voting on the Olivia Project. He sounds phony, is phony, and is at best a B-list actor.

If Clayton is such a racist city why did Jeff Wan get the most votes in the last election and defeat a 16 year non-ethnic incumbent council member? If Clayton is such a racist city why did the citizens elect Jim Diaz to the city council not once, but twice? If Clayton is such a racist city then why are so many citizens so enthusiastically supporting Frank Gavidia and Jim Diaz?

Tillman, Catalano, and Cloven are the wrong choice for Clayton. Don’t be fooled!
