This letter was obtained from the public comment section posted on the city website for the City Council meeting held on Tuesday, June 21st. The letter was sent by a concerned citizen regarding Amy Hines application.
Amy had reapplied to be on the Planning Commission once her term expired. When Amy first applied, she was strongly supported by council members Holly Tillman and Peter Cloven without fully vetting her.
The second time around, she was rejected by Holly and Peter. It was reported on social media and on Amy's website "Wildcat Consulting" that Amy had worked as a registered lobbyist in California and had two prior arrests. However, neither Tillman nor Cloven nor the commissioner disclosed this background during the initial interview and appointment process.
Tillman and Cloven voted against reappointment, apparently because the commissioner's background had been publicly revealed by a concerned citizen. (See below.)

Both Tillman and Cloven knew about her background, but decided to look the other way. They both wanted more affordable housing in Clayton and didn’t care where it was placed. Some people referred to Holly as “high density Holly.”
ReplyDeleteAmy’s placement looks like pay-to-play on Holly's part. Holly never disclosed on her economic statements that she was a client of Amy's when running for council, and then bam, Amy is on the planning commission. Smells of rotten eggs!
