Hello Clayton! It's That Time Again—City Council Elections Are Here!

By Clayton Watch

The Clayton Watch Team is thrilled to share that there are four candidates vying for three spots on the city council this year: Rich Enea Sr, Maria Shulman, Councilmember Holly Tillman, and Mayor Jim Diaz.

Recognizing the challenges and costs candidates face in reaching voters in Clayton, the Clayton Watch Team has stepped in to assist by providing a platform for them to share their campaign messages on our website. We reached out to each candidate via email to request their statements for posting.

Three candidates took the opportunity to respond: Rich Enea Sr, Maria Shulman, and Mayor Jim Diaz. Unfortunately, Councilmember Holly Tillman was a no show.

  1. I am frustrated that you did not wait for Holly to submit her response. The people of Clayton need to know all the candidates. When I ran, I would have hoped you would have done the same for me. Please reevaluate your ideals.

    1. Ed, on August 21st, Clayton Watch sent an email to all the candidates congratulating them and inviting them to submit their candidate statements. This was clearly mentioned in the post. Did you miss that? It’s been over three weeks; how long do you think Clayton Watch should wait? The other three candidates followed the instructions and their statements have been posted.

    2. Ed, it is as simple as hitting the forward button. It shouldn’t take Holly 3weeks to figure this out

    3. Do the people of Clayton really believe they reached out to every candidate?? Looks to me that Clayton Watch has their candidates in mind. And you know that if I were running they would have NEVER asked me!

    4. Ed, Do the people of Clayton really believe they reached out?

Why don’t you canvas the town and report back your findings. That should keep you occupied for a while.

  3. ED M - Sound really bitter - but good news for you Holly Tillman's presumably outside Clayton contributors have paid for signs up and down Ygnacio so she should be fine for them for us if she can't respond??? Who knows?
