Clayton, CA |
The speakers included those who regularly criticized Jeff Wan, Jim Diaz, and Kim Trupiano, while strongly supporting Holly Tillman. They tried to pressure the city into giving Prebula a favorable review, even though his performance was widely regarded as inadequate. The reason for their support? Prebula shared the same divisive politics as Tillman and others in the group, and unfortunately, tribalism had a significant influence on decision-making.
Since Prebula’s departure, the city has seen marked improvements. Under Kris Loftus’s leadership, our finances have become far more transparent, and his leadership has been well-received by many. Kris is proving to be a manager who prioritizes effective governance and community collaboration. His first six months in office have shown his commitment to moving Clayton forward, and we’re hopeful for the positive changes he will continue to bring to the city.
We look forward to your comments. If you would like to get on our email list, send us a message.

It's frustrating to most of us in Clayton that the progressive audience only wants things their way, and when they don't get it, they refuse to support anyone.
ReplyDeleteDEI is dead and it’s time to move on - If you go woke you go broke - Keep Transexuals out of women’s sports.
DeleteI think Mr. Lofthus is doing an excellent job as city manager, keeping all the staff and a particular council member in her lane. The city is functioning at a higher, more informed, and transparent capacity than it has been run in years, if ever. Great job, Mr. Lofthus!
ReplyDeleteThere was one thing that was absolutely clear when that rowdy group showed up at the city council meeting to back Prebula: they were mostly CBCA members. And let's be real, we all know what they’re after... Yep, freebies galore. Where I come from, we call that "sucking up" or "brown-nosing"—take your pick. It’s honestly a relief that group has disappeared and no longer graces us with their presence at the meetings. Good riddance, right?
ReplyDeleteThe CBCA members still show up with nasty comments when someone other than that group speaks up with an opinion they disagree with. They still have that one council member constantly pushing an agenda, mostly hers, but an agenda nonetheless. That group also preaches love and acceptance but is so full of hate. They love pushing slurs and name-calling against Clayton residents, and the kicker is they don't know 3/4 of the people they are doing that to, and the ones they do know, they do it to be vile and mean, especially that council member and her cult.
ReplyDeleteI don’t know much about this Brett guy, but it sure sounds like he was riding down the wrong trail and had no idea how to turn the horse around.
ReplyDeleteHe rode out of town on the same horse he rode in on. The only difference is that he had his tail between his legs.
DeleteHow can we get that one council member left to ride out of town? She has to go! What a piece of garbage. Thank goodness Kris hasn't put up with nonsense from her or anyone else anywhere in the city. Great job, Kris!
DeleteIt is unfortunate that Clayton had to endure 3 years of incompetent city managers and two years of Wolff, Cloven and Tillman incompetent leadership before we got a good city manager and a new leadership on the city council.
ReplyDeleteRent-A-Government. The well organized Progressive Dems trained on using outside systems to do the city's work. Specialized co's with GREAT software will handle and make the decisions for the needs of any municipality.
DeleteOh did I mention the cost? Sorry your property and sales tax will go up substantially. If you fire one they all go.
Many thanks to our new City Mgr and new staff. Clayton has authentic and very capable people back in charge.

Agree. The woke staff all moved back to Napa and Sacramento.
DeleteIt's unacceptable that we still have do nothing, Tillman. I would go so far as to say she is quite a troublesome woman.
DeleteI do see a sense of improvement especially in the way Meetings are handled, and information is provided. The "we have to pay more" group seems to also have quieted down too which is nice. That said I will be watching how the maintenance department performs under his leadership. We have a big grass and weed problem and a number of streetside landscape areas that are part of the Landscape Maintenace District's responsibility are overgrown as if they were skipped in the past under the previous leadership. One can hope this will be addressed soon under Mr. Loftus' leadership especially the weed growth, dead leaves etc. and other fire safety areas that need to be addressed not just along the trails, but on the sidewalks and open spaces> These must be addressed sooner rather than later as fire season is rapidly coming upon us.
ReplyDeleteI thought Holly was in charge of trails and landscaping. It appears she’s done nothing. I don’t even think she’s had a meeting with the committee this year.
DeleteI believe it’s Holly and Jeff. Something needs to give - the town looks terrible,
DeleteHolly never does any work, but is Johnny on the spot to have her picture taken to make her look like she does. Holly is all talk and no action! She likes to condemn people for all sorts of things but NEVER takes accountability for her actions and inactions; let's face it, she may break a fake nail.
DeleteSo glad Kris hasn't fallen for Holly’s bullshit. Kris is a good guy!
DeleteThank you Clayton Watch. Janet and I really appreciate the updates and information. Keep up the good work. Another donation will be coming soon.
ReplyDeleteKris truly stands out as one of the best leaders we've had. With an open-door policy, he consistently foster an environment of accessibility and open communication, making sure that residents, employees, and community members feel heard and valued. I know this firsthand, because I’ve met with him several times.
ReplyDeleteWhat sets him apart even further is his commitment to keeping a clear boundary between local government and nonprofit politics. He focus on the needs of the entire city without getting caught up in divisive or partisan influences, ensuring that public service always remains the top priority. Thank you Kris
I couldn't agree with you more!
DeleteI am so glad we have Kris and not crybaby Bret, Who took his toys and left when he didn't get his way. Bret was so far up the rear of the CBCA, Cloven, and Tillman that he could not see the sun or make a decision worth a damn.
Best thing that has happened is all the crazies who showed up last year to make a big deal out of Prebula’s six month review no longer show up to make city council meetings a circus. No need to mention any of them by name. We have a great city manager now and 4 council members who take the job seriously. The crazies along with one council member are all irrelevant now.
ReplyDeleteMake Clayton great again!
ReplyDeleteDespite the fact that Prebula’s performance has been widely regarded as subpar, these individuals (Wolfe, Cloven, Tillman and others) continued to push for his approval, signaling a potential disregard for merit and the well-being of the people of Clayton.
ReplyDeleteAs we move forward, it's essential that we engage in an open, honest conversation about these issues. Clayton deserves leadership that prioritizes the needs and values of its residents. We must continue to question agendas that don’t align with our shared interests. For those people involved, please take your woke agenda elsewhere. And Kris, please keep up the good work, your dedication is recognized and appreciated. Bill and Cindy Robinson
Our Clayton Police Department is wonderful for addressing the issues with the Ebikes before they result in fatalities or serious injuries to riders or pedestrians. Great job, Calyton PD!
