On Tuesday the Council met to discuss the results of the annual audit for fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. Unfortunately there was a scheduling miscommunication and the City's auditor was not in attendance. As a result, we tabled the discussion to a future meeting.

There was also a closed session with no reportable items.

  1. I hear the audit came out fantastic and the city is in good shape. Hopefully the auditor can make it to the next meeting as I would love to hear what he/she has to say.

  2. Given that our local newspaper editor said we are city in decline, she should attend the next meeting and then the public should demand a retraction. It’s the same people who want to talk down Clayton. Why? Because they and their friends aren’t in charge anymore.

  3. Tamara Steiner, publisher of The Clayton Pioneer, has shown increasing hostility toward Clayton residents and public officials ever since losing her grip on the local agenda and the influence she once wielded. With the CBCA now brought back under appropriate oversight and now paying their fair share, both she and her husband have seen their remaining sway in the community all but disappear. Her paper is getting thinner and thinner by the month.

Her ally on the City Council, Holly Tillman, isn’t faring much better. In light of recent audit findings, it’s hard to believe she’s still pushing for higher taxes—especially when the city is sitting on millions in reserves. What responsible leader would advocate for taxing residents more in that situation?

Even more concerning, during her time as vice mayor, Tillman was fully aware that the city’s checkbook hadn’t been reconciled in over 18 months and did nothing about it. That kind of negligence isn’t just troubling—it’s unacceptable.

    Signed,

    A Prior City Employee

  4. I just recently moved to Clayton and like receiving the Pioneer. I've never met the owner, but I don’t get out much due to my age. I'm sure glad I found this website and all the articles it has. Thanks, Henry and Agnus

  5. The Pioneer is moving full speed ahead at failing and they are not changing their strategy. Now would be a good time for a retraction. I am glad we have Clayton Watch to clean up after all their mudslinging. It is a dirty job.

    1. Tamara’s politics are way out there. She claims to be “objective” yet she always writes everything to favor her political view. Her writers are worse especially Peggy Smear who makes up elections results and twists quotes from any candidate or council person Tamara doesn’t like. Sadly now that’s everyone except for one on the council. Tamara needs to retire. Clayton isn’t in decline. It’s in decline only for her because her friends aren’t in charge anymore. Can’t wait for this audit info to get out so Tamara can see how bad her lies about Clayton are.

  6. Tamara and Holly have spread numerous lies about Clayton and its residents while acting as if they bear no responsibility for their actions. This is particularly evident with Holly, who continues to elevate herself on a pedestal built from deception. It's high time Holly issued the apologies she owes. My recommendation? Stop hiding behind photo ops and start taking accountability. P.S. Holly, have you and Matt taken a good look in the mirror recently?

  7. How about the police? Any reports on them to show their accountability for their lies? This seems like a pretty blue line support website and I would love to hear everyone's opinion backing these people.

    1. Are you kidding me? First you bombard nextdoor with all of your anti-police rhetoric and now you come here? Last I saw you do not even live in Clayton. Respectfully check yourself next time you decide to post on a website like this.

    3. Dennis brings his hate of the police to Clayton Watch - why who couldn't have seen this coming - perhaps he will try to get folks banned too? - Does he have any specifics of course no He is a fraud hater of police - perhaps does he have personal experience? - one wonders

    4. Dennis - we shall see if you have the kind of power that your obvious hate for the police has hear as opposed to your abuses on Nextdoor - good luck

  8. There is a reason why you were kicked off Nextdoor Dennis. Please don't start here with your hatred with the police. Stay on the right side of the law and you won't have a problem.

  9. Absolutely, what specific falsehoods are you referring to regarding the Clayton PD? Or is it that you simply endorse the lies and misconceptions that Holly Tillman promotes about the residents and police of Clayton?

  10. New version of, "police are pigs" has resurfaced on social media ND. Antioch, Clayton and Concord. Seeing several denigrating the police posts. Dennis says he's 76 yrs old. I think he moves around social media sites swiftly for his age. His concerned posts aren't typical of seniors concerns.
