Special Meeting - Please Be There - Starts at 4:00 PM

  1. Good Governance Training - Really?

Another “special meeting” – and taxpayers get to foot the bill for it. Why? Because Councilmember Holly Tillman apparently can’t get along with anyone. Instead of focusing on real city business, we’re now spending public funds on a governance workshop that most cities manage to avoid, simply by acting professionally.

To be clear, this wasn’t requested by the full Council. This was driven by Councilmember Tillman herself, who seems to believe that basic cooperation requires formal training. The irony is hard to miss: the person fueling division now wants a class to explain how to work together.

    1. It has been a great year with this council. Mayor Trupiano leading the meetings with amazing attention to details and transparent resolutions to problems. The years of experience from being involved with other boards councils and groups by most of our members shows in the team effort to deliver for Clayton. There's always room for improvement! Thank-you to the 2025 City Council for going the extra mile as you always have this year.

  2. I love the way Holly likes to spend taxpayer money. We have four professional council members that work together on important issues and one (Holly) who can’t get along with the four or the staff, so all five have to sit through a four hour meeting to train her. What a waste of taxpayer money and council time. I have a better idea, Holly please resign.

  3. It’s time for the incessant calls for investigations from Tillman to come to an end. The real issue stems from her actions, and it’s imperative that she receives the necessary training to address these problems. Holly is consistently negative and seems to harbor disdain for everyone around her, including herself. It’s crucial that she refrains from making inappropriate comments on social media. Engaging in disputes with constituents is clearly unprofessional for someone in her position, yet she continues to do so.

Additionally, her remarks about spouses are concerning, especially when her husband positions himself as the unofficial sixth council member. Together, they frequently disparage Clayton, even sporting offensive merchandise. This kind of classless, disruptive, and condescending behavior is unacceptable and clearly reflects poorly on both Tillman and her devoted supporters. I will be attending the meeting, and I look forward to holding her accountable for her actions.

    1. Hats that show our city name upside down are offensive. Why would anyone go through the effort and expense of having them made?

    2. Because it's Matt and Holly Tillman! They think Clayton is in distress because they aren't ruling Clayton like tyrants!

    3. Absolutely! The Tillman family was completely obnoxious at the 4th of July parade. It’s worth noting that Holly outright refused to walk with her fellow council members at the end of the parade, clearly showing her lack of commitment. The hats worn backward and upside down were not just a fashion statement; they were an open disrespect to Clayton and its residents. It's time to question why she remains on the council when she refuses to collaborate with any of her colleagues.

  4. This meeting will be a complete waste of time, staff time, tax payer dollars and will be another chance for Holly and her supporters to turn it into a circus.

  5. The Tillman family is quite the spectacle! They constantly complain about everything while enjoying their privileged lives, embodying a real woe-is-me attitude. It's ridiculous. The one who truly needs to learn about effective governance is Holly. She struggles to maintain relationships with anyone! It's time for her to resign and leave Clayton, the town she so clearly despises. While she's at it, seeking serious psychological help would be a wise move!

  6. Tillman displayed a consistently negative attitude throughout the workshop, claiming that she comes prepared. However, it was Holly who, during a critical budget meeting, refused to vote because she said she “didn’t have time” to read the information. This is not only hypocritical but also downright dishonest.

    1. Nothing will change. Holly will still do the things she does. She made it clear tonight all that she cares about is the CBCA. This silly meeting was a waste of time and money.

    2. I attended the second hour of the Good Governance Workshop. The two giving the workshop were easy to follow and one had been on city councils lending a personal experience touch. I enjoyed hearing our council members personal responses as most were honest about their strengths and noting where they could improve. Three standout items were to my liking. 1) The amount of work and effort that was put into understanding Clayton's budget needs along with the passing this year the first ever 2 year budget.
Many of the citizens had wanted the line item accountability and it was received.
      2) The push out by Mayor Trupiano for acknowledging all the positive items we have going on here! From the Concerts in the Grove, parades, events, safe living conditions, and good schools. For all the arguing we do, we have a wonderful city to live in. 3) The reality that councils members have to considered themselves part of the council team. After running their campaigns as individuals if voted in they become a part of the group agency. They are the agency voted in to do the people's work. While they grind through the issues and no matter how they individually vote; once an item is passed they all agree to uphold and support the ruling.
Thanks to council for taking the workshop. Pleased to say our council could have given the the workshop!

    3. Abundantly clear the CBCA is her priority. Holly's behavior is gross. She is condescending and rude to her fellow council members. She even talked about how SHE does not like how they decide because it's not spoken to death. It's not up to her to say how they make their decision. She clearly showed 1. She has to be center stage
      2. Controlling / manipulative behavior
      3. Liar ( says she comes prepared yet, is on video during a budget vote, clearly stating she did not have time to read information ).
      4. High Conflict personality - I'm never wrong, everyone else is
      5. NEVER takes Responsibility for actions
      6. NEVER ADMITS WRONGDOING - attacking following councilmembers, and their spouses, packing the audience, name-calling, bias and race bating of other council members, declaring Clayton is racist, sundown town, police profile, bringing violent protesters to town, refuses to work with council members, declares to outside agencies Clayton is in decline and toxic needing to get the grand jury involved and most recently her husband and family displaying paraphernalia declaring Clayton is in distress.
Is this someone that should represent Clayton? She should resign immediately! She could have them support her racist groups she and her husband belong to, because if you haven't woken up to her hate of white people, you are blind. Everything she does screams reverse discrimination, and I for one want NOTHING to do with her or it!

  7. Holly called for all this nonsense; she should pay the 7k out of her pocket to teach her a valuable lesson. Little Miss, I know everything and will do what I want. Lauren H
