IMPORTANT UPDATE TO CLAYTON VOTERS REGARDING OUR 2026 ELECTION FLYER
At the time the flyer was produced, we were on deadline for it to be inserted into the Diablo Gazette, neither Amy Callaghan nor Charlie Schmidt had publicly stated a position on Measures M or N in the campaign information available to the Clayton Community. The flyer nevertheless identified their positions as shown. (See below.)
We now have their direct, written responses. Both Amy Callaghan and Charlie Schmidt answered YES to Measure M and YES to Measure N in the questionnaire that was recently sent to all candidates.
We believe Clayton voters deserve the most current information available, so we are publishing this update along with the original flyer. The original flyer has not been changed. We are showing it as it was produced and distributed, along with the candidates' more recent responses, so voters can consider both.
Clayton Watch encourages voters to review the information and make their own decisions.

ReplyDeleteLooks like both Any and Charlie were playing political games. Now we know all four candidates support Measure M and Measure N. Thank you Clayton Watch for the voter information.
ReplyDeleteAmy and Charlie’s websites avoided the issue, raising a fair question: Was that a deliberate political choice? Why did it take them so long to make their positions clear? Clayton voters deserve straightforward answers.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching last night’s candidate forum, I have concerns about Amy’s responses. She frequently looked down at what appeared to be typed notes, and her answers seemed rehearsed. That alone does not establish that she received questions in advance, but voters deserve transparency about how the forum was conducted.
ReplyDeleteAmy, were you given any questions beforehand, or did you coordinate with anyone in the audience regarding questions? These are fair questions that deserve a clear answer. Trust is earned through candor and accountability.
I noticed the same pattern. It seemed as if she had all her questions prepared in advance with fixed answers, unlike the other candidates. Her desire to eliminate city events, coupled with her specific mention of Hispanic heritage, raises concerns. Just look who was supporting her—clearly CBCA loyalists, quick to criticize anyone who doesn’t align with them. Amy is a no-vote, especially if she was cheating.
DeleteAmy is determined to bring the CBCA back to City Hall. It’s clear she’s too occupied with securing early candidate forum questions to do the necessary research. Her focus remains on her social media presence, as she advertised again last night. Here’s the truth, Amy: politics requires work, not just socials and parties.
